But it does leave a reminder of its visitation, buried deep within the psyche. Other times it's external, and leaves a visual reminder of its power. Take a scar, for instance. Rebuilt and fortified tissues without nerves, a grim reminder that something was lost in the translation from wound to healing, something that you'll never again regain...an unrecoverable loss.
This is where EOP originates, as we all bear these scars, internal and external, that can cripple or free us from the pains we encounter as we journey through life. Each song hints at an issue that has had enough resonance to generate a memory within, and in the writing, releases a small part of itself to the healing process.
Too often the scars we bear are the result of our carelessness...with our physical safety, with our personal relationships, with our words. Too often people are trapped within their own minds, agonizing about all of the shoulda/coulda/woulda's that will never be.
The music here explores something that all of us can relate to on a very personal level, regardless of which role one might play in the process that underlies our existenz. Each is a slice, a window, of an event that has been a part of my world, firsthand or otherwise. And through the meeting of minds, there are those who help me to bring these events and feelings to life...breathing in their own history and interpretation of the theme.
Welcome, and if you would,
"Take a look at these scars - they're all just echoes of pain" "Pieces torn from my heart - and this is all that remains"
